If you purchased HDEL software on or after August, 2004; Ultimate 4.30 or later, with or without any data, on a product CD ROM, then all products install automatically except on Windows7 OS. (If you have a Windows 7 operating system you will need to purchase a new program.) To view the normal sequence through the auto-installation process, see [Section 1] immediately below which shows a thumbnail type, ordered sequence of screen shots, just click the image to see a LARGER version of the thumbnail type image. Once auto-installation has completed successfully, see the next step, the first time start up of Ultimate, shown in [Section 3] below.

If you have purchased any additional HDEL software CD ROM products, then do not run the auto-installer. If it does automatically launch, then select CANCEL to abort the auto-installer and use the procedure shown for all subsequent HDEL CD ROM software product installation(s), shown in [Section 2] below. (NOTE: All Windows Vista and Windows 7 operating systems users may be required to run as administrator even though you may be logged on as admin to your computer. )

To install subsequently purchased HDEL software CDROM product(s), use the procedure shown here, for each product. Click on the image to make it larger.

With the HDEL software CDROM in the CDROM drive, in order of sequence, do the following : select START | RUN | BROWSE | (select the CDROM drive from the pulldown menu) | (double click the yellow folder entitled as the product desired to install, oftentimes labeled as [SETUP2] ) | (double click the file [SETUP.EXE] , this is the one that has the typical blue computer icon image ) | OK and the product installer launches.

Next select OK and follow the prompts to install your data.

Type in the product Serial Number, which can be found on the product :
a. invoice (if purchased directly from HDEL)
b. CD ROM (disc itself)
c. CD ROM front cover (sleeve insert) and / or sticker on the jewel case

The first time startup of Ultimate

Launch Ultimate (from desktop icon or programs menu listing). Select the 1st Startup option.

At the Change Database (title of) window, select the Manual tab. Double click on the HDEL folder. Double click on the Database folder (normally, SKT_CurrencyDate formatted in a manner similar to the following example 1A251_0309 ). Verify that the ‘bolded’ words displayed near the bottom area of the window read “This is a valid Database.”, then select CONTINUE. This then loads the Ultimate MAIN MENU display window with your selected Database ready for Ultimate usage. Now, if you have more Databases that you want to eventually use with Ultimate, select FILE | CHANGE DATABASE and repeat this step for each database.

Once you’ve completed this process of setting up all of your Databases with Ultimate, then from the Ultimate MAIN MENU display window, choose your Study Option (mode) and begin your self studying regimen. Or if preferred, setup your operating preferences, under the PREFERENCES menu item first, then begin studying. Preferences selections made, remain in effect until changed by the user.
